A non-profit foundation in charge of the Stacks space, the Stacks Foundation has announced today that it will be launching a programme called Stacks Accelerator with the aim of fostering the growth of developers in the blockchain industry globally.
The program is a 3-month intensive program supported by a ruling alliance of Stacks partners which also includes the Stacks Foundation, Freehold, Hiro Systems, and Daemon Technologies, which has an initial commitment of $4 million to back more than a hundred entrepreneurs who are in their early stage in the crypto technology in terms of funding, access to the growing community of incredible Stacks’ developers and mentorship.
The aim of Stacks as a layer-1 blockchain is developed to allow an internet owned by the users. Stacks has been around the diverse crypto project, be it NFTs (Non-fungible Tokens), Decentralized Finance (DeFi) projects and even Bitcoin. It offered a special opportunity for builders to create durable projects by enabling smart contracts that are scalable for Bitcoin on the most valuable and secured network in the blockchain.
Accelerator Program through Mentorship and Funding
Adding to the experienced developers in the Stacks community, the Accelerator program from Stacks will also invest in diverse startup teams that are interested in making use of the Stacks protocol to innovate Bitcoin further. The terms of considerations for these startups are two co-founders that are dedicated full time to the startup irrespective of the stage and the funding level.
The program will make funds up to $50,000 available for the ventures participating ($25,000 as an upfront prize and the remaining released later). This fund is with additional funding and intense mentorship for any startup that continues thereafter indefinitely.
The program has been announced as an online program with rounds of unique and personalized mentorship sessions and workshops. The list of the mentors has the author of The Lean Startup, Eric Ries, and heavyweights in the industry like the CSO of CoinShares, Meltem Demirors. There is going to be the special appearance of leaders in the crypto space like the Co-Founder of Ledger, Thomas France, Anthony Pompliano, a recognized investor at the Pomp Investments and many more.
The Managing General Partner of the program, Trevor Owens, reminiscing about the Accelerator, said, “Our ultimate goal is to build a resounding network of mentors, investors, partners and founders in the industry to hand new startups advantage when they hit the market.”
